Penny Black #90 a sketch challenge

Hi! I combined two stamps to make one image for this challenge. I wanted this little pooch to be watching this butterfly. I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and sponged around the image with green chalk. I used my MS pop-up butterfly border punch, and used the butterflies that punched out on the card above the image. The cs is all SU, and the stripe dp is Fancy Papers and the other is BG. I used dimintionals on the image and the butterfly panel to make them level.

That's it! Thanks a bunch for lookin'!

Totally Papercraft #5

Happy Friday! Of course, the days all seem the same to me :). Oh, well. Had a great day out yesterday with the ladies.

This card is Sue's first sketch for Totally Papercraft #5. I interpreted it a bit differently than most. I used a solid piece of cs, embossed with a CB folder (swirls) and seperated it with ribbon from Robert Stanley Collection. I used an image from Whiff of Joy, colored it with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol, plus Copic E00 Skin White. I gently sponged and colored around the outside of the image with pink and soft shade of purple. The paper is from DCWV and SU. The flowers are Prima. I put some FlowerSoft (Heather) on her basket of flowers. The brad in the upper flower is from BG.

Thanks a bunch for lookin'!

Penny Black #89 and Sketch Saturday 91

This card was made for two challenges: Penny Black and Sketch Saturday. Penny Black challenge was to use Pink, Green, and Yellow. I used this cute image from PB's Critter Party. The sentiment is from SU. I colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. The tiny flowers are from where I punched the corners of the yellow mat and the pink cs with my MS corner punch. The dp is from my stash, as is the ribbon. The yellow pearls are from Kaisercraft. I sponged the sentiment with chalk after cutting it with Nesties rectangle.

That's it. Simple and sweet. Thanks a bunch for lookin'!

The Sugar Bowl #30 Kathy's Sketch and Shabby Chic

I just love artist Rachel Anne Miller. Her images are so sweet! I used this image for today's challenge. It is colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol, except for her face. It is colored with Copic E00, Skin White. I sponged around the image with chalk. The dp is from K & Co, the cs is a mix of my stash and DCWV (green). I used the edge of my scissors to rough the edges. Some day I'm going to get a tool to do that! The red ribbon is from Offray, the rhinestones are Crystal Stickers from Elements. I enjoyed this sketch. It ws fun to make these paper shabby. Oh, I also stitched around four of the layers! Ok, that's it!

Thanks a bunch for lookin'!

Whiff of Joy #68

I love Wednesdays, because that means "Whiff of Joy" time! Today the challenge was a sketch by Bev. I used paper from The Paper Patch and cs from my stash. The flowers are Prima. The image is new; it's from the February bi-monthly set. I was so excited when I got it Monday! I colored her with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. I used a MS border punch and Offray ribbon. I put a brad in the center of the stacked flowers. I cut the image with Nesties large circle scallop. I used Prismacolor pencils around the edge of the circle.

That's it. Thanks a bunch for lookin'!

The SugarBowl A Recipe

Good Wednesday morning, All. (Peeps, as my friend Sue says :)

I made this card for the Sugar Bowl. It's the first time I've entered it. I need to get some more stamps to play more often! This was a sketch challenge and a recipe: to use 3 flowers (check), 2 brads (check), and 1 button (check). I also incorporated a ribbon as part of the sketch. I colored this sweet image with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. The flowers are Prima and Spare Parts. The brads are also Spare Parts from Hobby Lobby. The ribbon is from my stash. The paper also. I used burgundy for the dark, and pink and yellow. I like this combo. I think it made a pretty card. I cut the image out and popped it out from the card. I used a MS corner punch on the pink (it's part of the sketch). That's it. Thanks for lookin'!

Simon Says Stamp

I created this little card for Simon Says Stamp, to use a House Mouse, Hoppers, or Gruffie, and use 3 types embellishments, 2 patterned papers and 1 image. This is the first House Mouse stamp I ever bought, and this is the first time I have inked it up! This is Mudpie, Little Nibbler HMUR1052, stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Prisma color pencils and Gamsol. I cut him out with Nesties Labels 4. The brads are from Bo Bunny and the pearls are Kaiser hot Pink. The ribbon is Offray, as are the flowers, Stylish Accents. The paper is from my stash, and it is two sides of the same sheet. I used pink and blue cs from DCWV. I think it turned out pretty cute. What do you think?

Thanks a bunch for lookin'!

Basic Grey Week 14

I started this card on Saturday, finished it this morning :) . I made it for BasicGrey's Week 14 color challenge to use Maroon, Lemon and Pink. I think I got it covered :). I used BG's Perhaps Sari-per-740. I roughed the edges with the edge of my sissors and stitched the BG paper to the pink SU cs. The yellow is also SU. The Maroon is from my stash. I used my new corner punch from EK Success to mount the Whipper Snapper image. I colored the image with Prisma color pencils and Gamsol. I used Kaiser yellow and dark pink pearls as embellishment. That's about it. Thanks a bunch for lookin'!

Cute Card Thurs #100, MAWTT #33, CCEE1007

This card was made for two challenges, but then i realized that it fit 3. But then I read MAWTT again after I made the card, and it was supposed to have "Mom" on it. I think I spaced that because I lost my mom 30 years ago. So it's a birthday card... but Mom could take the cake as well :-)

I used MAWTT's challenge #33, Sketch and Theme, combined it with Cute Card Thurs #100, to use Metal, and it fit CCEE 1007, something "sweet", and cake is sweet!

The image is Whipper Snapper. I colored it with Prisma color pencils and Gamsol. I layered brown, pink and yellow with BG's Sugared. I put little metal hinges on each end of the long layer, and metal brads on the image. The flower(s) are Prima with a metal brad in the center.

That's about it. No Nesties were used on this card :-). The yellow and pink cs are SU, and the brown is DCWV. Thanks a bunch for lookin'!

Totally Papercraft #4, Friday Sketchers #90

This card was made for two challenges: Totally Papercraft #4 and Friday Sketchers #90. I pulled this paper out yesterday, thinking I'd like to make a card with them. I had printed this image from Free Coloring Pages awhile back, shrinking it down. I love this Sarah Kay image. I hope they make it a stamp soon :). I colored her with my Prisma color pencils and Gamsol. The sentiment is Verve. I cut the sentiment with Nesties Label 5 (I finally got one!). The green base is from my stash and the pink cs is SU. The dotted dp is from my stash. I think the floral dp is from Creative Imaginations. The flowers are Prima (green) and Spare Parts (pink) with a pink brad in the center. I used CB's Bloom Dots on the base of the card. I sponged green and brown chalk to give the illusion of floor and wall. I think it turned our pretty cute. What think you?

Thanks a bunch for lookin'!

SFYTT021310

I'm very happy that Sketch For You To Try (SFYTT) is back! I made this card for the second February sketch. I thought about it during the night, I stewed about it this morning, and I finally put it together... I'm not real happy with it! Something is missing. I followed the sketch. Just can't figure out what's wrong!

I used cs from my stash, the dp is Creative Imaginations. The image is Whipper Snapper, colored with Prisma color pencils and Gamsol. I put a little "rose" over the flower she is holding. The border punch is Fiskers. I put lace around the curved part of the sketch. I used Kaiser pearls, Hot Pink and Latte.

That's about it. Thanks for lookin'. If you can think of what else it needs, please feel free to make suggestions!

Gabbi at 15 weeks

This is Gabbi today, at 15 weeks. Last week, at 14 weeks, she weighed 25 lbs. She seems to gain 2 1/2 lbs a week! She's getting at that gangly stage, where she's all legs, a bit clumsy. Her left ear is standing up nice and straight, but the right ear is lagging behind just a bit. It still flops toward the center. I expect it to strengthen more this week. Her head is getting more red in it. It's fun to see how her color changes. I can really tell when I brush her, I can see the colors underlying the black. I think she's going to be a very pretty dog.

Thanks for lookin'! She's a sweetie (when she's not trying to eat our hands!).

SFYTT020610

You know, sometimes I forget I can make a card without dp! I couldn't find any dp in my collection to match these colors, so I just used cs. I made a tissue flower using turquoise and brown that I found. I found cs to match, and created this card. I used Nestabilities circles and scallops. I used the same scallop size to cut the tissue paper, put a brad in the center and crinkled up the tissue paper. I think it turned out pretty cute! The ribbon is Offray brown and turquoise, and the button from my stash. The sentiment is from SU. No coloring! That was weird :). Pretty simple card. The sketch is from SFYTT Feb 06, 2010.

Thanks a bunch for lookin'!

OCCSC2, Totally Papercraft #3, Stamp Simple #126

This card was made for 3 challenges: The sketch came from OCCSC2, the button and bows are for Totally Papercraft #3, and the colors purple and green are for Stamp Simple #126. Friday Sketchers #89

Hi! Made it to church today. Sometimes it's hard for my mother-in-law to get around (almost 98 she is!), but today we made it. Was a good morning.

I made this card for Friday Sketchers #89. I used an image from my daughter's collection, colored it with Prisma color pencils and Gamsol. Cut the image and mat with Nestabilities ovals and scallop, cut the square (diamond) with Nestabilities squares. The ribbon is Celebrate It from Michael's. The pearls are Kaiser Hot Pink. Belles n' Whistles combined with Roses on Paper #31

Hi! It's getting late on Thursday evening, and I just decided to make this card :) . This is for a challenge I just discovered on Monday: Belles n' Whistles combined with Roses on Paper. This is their 31st challenge. It's a color challenge to use Pink, Brown, and Cream. I used several shades of pink and brown when coloring this adorable Belles n' Whistles image.
Belles n' Whistles images are really fun to color, and they are really adorable. I couldn't wait to use this cutie!
I colored his pants cream. It's hard to tell, but it's true :) . I used Prisma color pencils and Gamsol to color the image. All paper is from Basic Grey's Bittersweet, even the corner stickers. I used Martha Stewart's lacy hearts border punch on the mat at the bottom of the image. I put Summer Flower Soft on his bouquet of flowers, and used Stickles Fruit Punch on all the hearts (well, not the big one). I used the tiny hearts that resulted from the MS border punch and placed them around the image. I'm going to give this card to my hubby Sunday for Valentine's Day!
Thanks a bunch for lookin'!

CPS 153

This card was made for CPS's sketch challenge #153. It was a very simple sketch, my favorite! I used Penny Black's little teddy with a rain of flowers. The ribbon is Offray. The paper is from my stash. The rhinestones are Kaiser soft pink and ice blue.

Basic Grey 13 a sketch

I love BasicGrey paper! Some day... I hope to have a lot more :) I used Euphoria, 3 different sheets, for this card. The green cs is SU. The image is from Whiff of Joy. I colored her with Prisma color pencils and Gamsol, trying to match the colors of the dp as closely as I could! The rhinestones are Kaiser Ice Blue. The flowers are from my stash. I cut both sides of the center paper with Fiskers border punch.
That's it! Thanks for lookin'!

Penny Black #87

Happy Saturday! This whole card happened by accident! I did chose the image and colored it with my Prisma color pencils and Gamsol. Then when I was deciding on paper, I found this paper I had colored on the other side with Copics for something else, and cut it out with a Nestabilities scallop circle. The color came through to this side (I didn't realize I had grabbed a piece of dp when I colored the other side)! I embossed it with CB Floral Screen folder. I don't have any pins, but I put tiny Kaiser pearls all around the card, and the flower is from K & Co Wild Raspberry Adhesive Gems. I put summer Flower Soft on the flowers of the image. I also sponged around the edges with chalk. I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out! What do you think? Thanks a bunch for lookin'!

Our new puppy

These two pictures were taken just a few minutes ago. This is Gabbi, our 13 week old GSD: German Shepherd Dog. She is quite a character. She gained 4 1/2 lbs between 8 and 10 weeks, and 10 lbs between 8 and 12 weeks! She's going to be a big girl!

These are pics of her right after we got her. She was 7 weeks, 2 days when we brought her home. She's changed a little, hasn't she! I'll be glad when she's pas the biting stage! I just had to put a bandaid on my arm where she got me! She doesn't mean to hurt, she just is playing. She's very smart, of course! But GSD's are as a breed. Look at those feet!
This is for you, Sue! Thanks a bunch for lookin'!

Totally Papercraft Challenge #2

Time for Totally Papercraft's second Friday challenge! This was a recipe challenge to use 3 embellishments: ribbon, flowers and blling; two papers: orange and green; and one image: Whiff of Joy.

I colored the image with Copics. The dp is BasicGrey and the orange cs is DCWV. Very simple card, just the way I like 'em!
Thanks a bunch for lookin'!

Childhood Memories for MAWTT#32

Hi! Boy, I haven't felt good the past two days. Picked up a stomach virus when I visited my daughter over the weekend ;( . Slept most of yesterday. Didn't do a whole lot today... 3 loads of laundry, but that's about it.
Made this adorable card for Moving Along With the Times #32, Childhood Memories. This is one of my all-time favorite stamps by Sarah Kay. I was raised on a farm in Missouri, and we had lots of chickens. And I still hate shoes! I colored this cute image with Prisma color pencils and Gamsol. I used brown cardstock from DCWV and the soft yellow is from SU. The dp is Basic Grey. The flowers are Prima and the ribbon is Offray. I glued bows on the flowers. I used Fiskers Leaves corner punch on the image.

This card is for the brand new challenge Totally Papercrafts. This is their first challenge, Friends. What is more a friend than a brand new puppy? We got a German Shepherd puppy for Christmas, and she is 13 weeks old, 3 months today. She is already HUGE! And is getting sweeter every day.

The sentiment is from SU, and the image is Sarah Kay, one of my favorite artists. I used a Cuttlebug embossing border down the middle. You can almost see it!

House Mouse, 2S4Y, Copics color challenge

Hi, again! I visited my daughter and her family over the weekend, and so I'm trying to catch up on my cards! I made this card for 3 challenges: House Mouse #62, 2S4Y #45, and Copics Color Challenge #49. The 2S4Y challenge was to make a round card. The challenge for House Mouse was a valentine, and the Copics challenge was to use: E00 Skin White, E33 Sand, and R02 Flesh. I had a three of these! Often I have one of the three, sometimes none, once in awhile, 2. But not all 3! I colored the mouse's ears, nose, tail, "hands" and feet with E00, the outline of the hert with R02, and the ground under the mouse with E33. I anso used R27 for the red of the heart. I sponged around the image with red chalk. I used Stampabilities Monica Romances HMER10104 for the image. I embossed the card with CB's Heart Blocks folder. The ribbon is from Michael's Valentine's Day. The sentiment is from Studio G Clear Stamps. I cut the card and image and mat with Nestabilities circles and scallops. I used Inkssentials white opaque pen to make white dots around the red scallop. The image and sentiment were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black.
That's it. Thanks a bunch for lookin'!
