Feelin' cocky CPS102, FLLCFEB

Hi! I had the paper gathered together for the FLLCFEB living color challenge, but hadn't decided what to do with them. So today, I decided it was time to get the card done! As I was looking for the right stamp, this rooster from Inkadinkado just jumped at me, saying: HELLO! I'm the one!! And, of course, it was. I layered the basic peacock colors plus this dp that had most of the color shades in it. I used CPS102 as my layout guide, and this is what I came up with! The rooster is colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. The small flowers have BasicGray brads in the centers. All flowers are popped out on diminsionals. The bottom borders of the top two layers are punched with a Fiskers border punch. All was layered on white cardstock.

WT205, CAS1 Sunbonnet Sue

Hi! Happy Thursday :-) I made this card originally for SCS's WT205 challenge to use fabric, so I did! I made my granddaughter a dress out of this fabric last summer, and I used a piece of scrap to make this little Sunbonnet Sue from a quilt magazine I have. I stitchec around the image and stitched on the ribbon and tied it into a bow. I then stitched around the green cardstock (actually, stitched it onto the orange). Then I glued it onto the white cardstock and put pink rhinestones on the corners. And wala, it was done! Then I saw that SCS is starting a CAS (clean and simple) challenge, and I think I Sunbonne Sue fits that bill as well! This is one of the simplest cards I've made to date :-) . Might inspire me to sew some again, as well... need to do that!

Cuttlebug Be Inspired #18

I made this card for the Cuttlebug Be Inspired #18. It's a shape card. Now, I know this doesn't exactly fit what they were talking about, but when I saw the challenge, I immediately thought of this CB embossing folder. I embossed the front of the card, colored it with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol and cut out around the grass. I made the bird a Red-winged Blackbird because they are all over in my back yard right now! I sponged the inside of the card with VersaMagic Sea Breeze and Sahara Sand and Brilliance Pearlescent Sky Blue. I had covered the space for the moon/sun? and then colored it with Marvy LePlume II Lemon Yellow. The Happy Birthday stamp is by Inkadinkado. I like the way it turned out. What do you think?

It's still love ABC Anniversary Challenge

Hey there! It's Wednesday and a beautiful day today in Northern Fla! I made this card for 3 challenges, actually. I used today's SCS sketch challenge215 as my guide, I made an anniversary card for today's ABC - A = Anniversary, and I used metal for last Thursday's cute card challenge to use some metal :-).

I used green cardstock as the base of the card (over white), put hearts dp for the anniversary part, and used a House Mouse stamp for the cute part! I used blue (to go with the wheelbarrow) as a second layer for the sc, and paper pierced it. You can almost see it! Then I used red (to go with the flowers and heart dp) as the mat for the image. The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. I used a double ribbon (again as part of the sc), and created a bow with the sheer ribbon and attached it with a metal clip. I popped out the image part (including red mat) on foam squares.

4 Challenges!

Four challenges, you say? Yes, 4 challenges! The Sketch Challenge is for 2S4U#19, Laura's sketch.

The Color Challenge is for SCS CC205.

The cut out... well, I see it's a bit hard to see! Anyway, the flowers and flower pot are cut from a piece of dp by K and Co. The pink gingham is also from the same piece of dp. It's for SCS TLC207.

Last, but far from least, is Timeless Tuesday's challenge to use buttons. There are obvious buttons in the upper corners and on the flower, but the heart-shapes are also buttons!

Thus, I've covered 4 challenges!

I had gone to a quilt show with a friend a few weeks ago, and one of my purchases was a bag of old buttons. Three of them are used on this card.

I had bought the dp a few years ago to go in a scrapbook for my granddaughter (who is now 4). I got carried away with this design! And have a few sheets left over :0! When I saw SCS's challenge to cut something out from dp or other source, I thought of this paper. The flowers and pot are popped up on dimensionals, but it's hard to see in this picture.

Love MOJO73

Hey, this card was created for MOJO Monday #73. It's a very simple card. I got this ribbon the other day and really wanted to use it, so... this card was created around this ribbon :-) ! I found a blue in my stash that went pretty well, found some dp from KandCompany that had the blue in it, and this shade of purple, put it together, and was happy with it. I used my Hearts Fiskers border punch on each border of the purple, and strung my ribbon through it (I don't yet have a punch to make a ribbon threader). I used the dp behind the ribbon and blue layer, then put my image, also by KandCompany (that I just got yesterday from Maggie at Cuttlebug... I won a prize during their LuvBug weekend blog hop!) and colored it with Prismacolor pencils (no Gamsol). I used bubble stickers from JoAnn Scrap Essentials on each corner and the ribbon. This was the result! What do you think?

Seeking Shelter House Mouse Monday #24

Hi! Don't ya' just love House Mouse? Their stamps are the cutest! I created this cutie for the House Mouse Monday Challenge 24, to make a tall, thin card. This stamp fit the bill! The layout is very simple. It has layers of brown, yellow and sage green (my favorite color combos!). I ran the sage through a Cuttlebug embossing folder (I had to do it twice because the paper is so long). Then I ran three colors of ribbon on top of the sage, graduating their lengths, attaching a bow at the end of each. I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol, and I sponged the edges with VersaMagic Niagra Mist. and that was it!

Just hangin' out!

I have a hard time yet creating my own layouts :-( so I still use challenge sketches to help me out. This card was made for the High Hopes Sketch Challenge #17 and I combined it with the very first Copics challenge!

I usually go by the sketch first then choose a stamp (is that backward???), but this time I selected my stamp and colored it with Copics. The colors for the challenge were:
B28 - Royal Blue
V06 - Lavender
YR07 - Cadmium Orange

I used:
B24 - Sky
BV31 - Pale Lavender
YR07 - Cadmium Orange

I also used: YR04: Chrome Orange; B32: Pale Blue; RV13 Tender Pink; YG06: Yellowish Green; G09: Veronese Green; W3: Warm Gray #3; W5 Warm Gray #5

I found cardstock that matched fairly closely to my image. I layered the main background, ending up with blue on top; orange for the second layer, and topped it off with blue and a shade of lavender with the image on top of that. I used an orange ribbon and a bow on the image, a blue gingham ribbon behind the image, and a lavender gingham ribbon at the bottom left of the card. I used denim 1/2 pearls from Kaiser in the upper left corner of the card. The phrase is computer generated.

This was a fun card to make, and a fun sketch to follow.

No Stamps Used

This card was created for two challenges: OCC inspiration challenge to use favorite embellishments, and Friday Sketchers #38.

My favorite embellishments are ribbon and Kaiser 1/2 pearls. I used 3 different ribbons on this card, used the pink one twice, second time on the flower. I used green Kaiser 1/2 pearls on the corners of the largest layer and in the middle of the flower. The white 1/2 pearls aren't Kaiser, but they look adorable on this card. I love this patterned paper. I got it some time ago at a stamp store that was closing ( :( ). Didn't know then what I'm learning now: that stamping is an addiction! I used green and pink cardstock for layering. I left the inside blank. This would make a cute note card to send to a friend.

Valentine for Husband

Hi, Happy Saturday!

I made this card for three challenges: Penny Black Week 35 - Romance; Basic Gray Challenge 21 - Mix It Up; and Sketch Saturday 37.

I used three different papers from Basic Gray: Wassill, Figgy Pudding and Impulse. The letters are from Figgy Pudding and the brad, upper right corner, is from Bittersweet.

The image is Penny Black. It was colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. I stamped the image twice and cut out the second image and popped it out on foam squares. I used my Nestabilities round and scallop for the image and base. The base is really hard to see, but it's there :-). I put a ribbon behind the image and tied knots in each end. I put "love you" on the sides. My dh and I have been married for 41 years! So I guess I should put love you, don't you agree? :-)
